The wonder and magic of Christmas can be so spectacular as a child. I remember day dreaming of what the North Pole might look like; Santa's elves working in the workshop, the reindeer meandering through the snow and in my dreams there were always, always HUGE mountains of cookies with crisp cold glasses of milk!
What I loved most about this evening were the smiles and laughter you could hear from the children. That type of laughter is good for the soul, especially with the stark reminder this Christmas season of how, even children, can leave us far earlier than we are ready for. Sarah Teeter was on board to capture some of the special moments we experienced during our trip to the North Pole and I am so thankful as I scroll through the images. What a blessing to have photo's of our kids being kids, making memories and being joyful. Here are some of the great expressions she caught...
Our night started off with some incredible caroling! This isn't your typically run on of the mill caroling. This group has a way of taking you back to a Charles Dickens novel. The attire, the songs and the animated faces helped everyone get into the spirit!
Then it was (drum roll please...) Milk & Cookie time!
As they enjoyed their delicious treats, they listened to my mom read them "Night Before Christmas." Although many were stirring and giggles rang out, the children all shouted, "Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!"
We finished off the night with a good 'ol fashioned movie all snuggled in jammies and piled on blankets.
As I stood in the back of the Chapel I thought how blessed we are.
For the magic of Christmas is not something you can find in Santa or reindeer, or milk or cookies, or stories or movies. The magic of Christmas lies in the grace God showed on that silent night, in a lowly stable when he sent His son to save us. There is no greater wonder and there is no greater love. For that I am thankful and for that we have much joy!

Staging for the North Pole
I wish I could take all the credit for the gorgeous decor for our Christmas at the North Pole event, but I do not have the talent to create something so beautiful and cozy as this. Thankfully, the creative duo from Ira & Lucy know how to pull off any event, whether it's a Wedding, a Birthday party, Bridal shower, or yes, even a visit to the North Pole.
Heidi and Judy from Ira & Lucy Vintage Rentals made this all come to life. I couldn't believe how magical it felt as I swung open the Chapel doors and saw this special display. They just have an eye for amazing vintage pieces!
I also have to say another big thank you to Sarah Teeter for capturing the comfy, cozy cuteness!
